WW2 Pilot Bund Strap
Bund straps were first issued to German aviators during WWII by the Federal Republic of Germany.
Particularly useful in hostile war circumstances, the strap was equipped with the famous bund, a protective leather backing that came between the wrist and the watch. So no matter how intensely hot or cold conditions could get during service on the field or in the air, the wearer would suffer no consequence. A temperature-sensitive metal watch case could never scald or freeze to a wrist thanks to that extra piece. Also it is preferred by who is allergic to the metal.
When that extra piece-bund is removed, the strap becomes classic two-piece strap.
It is prepared as a single layer by cutting from unlined full-grain cow leather.
Standard Length: 80mm/125mm - 3.15"/ 4.92"
Thickness: 1.4-1.6mm - 0.55"/ 0.63"
316L Stainless steel buckle included.
Durable waxed thread
Handmade and hand stitched
It might be a little different from the pictures because of being handmade.
PS: The watch is not on sale.
Measure the buckle and lug width (the width between the area where your watch strap fits) and select the right size. The leather straps are compatible with all watches between 18mm and 24mm lug width.
PS: Lug and buckle width is measured as shown in the picture. For instance, if lug width is 22mm and buckle width is 20mm, the order is 22/20 MM.
